Our mission is to create healthier and happier pets.
We also provide comprehensive and transparent lifetime insurance policies for when things do go wrong.
The inspiration for Zest Pets came from my own experience as a working Vet. Despite the advances in veterinary care made over the past few decades, I saw increasing numbers of animals suffering unnecessarily from preventable conditions:
Older dogs with arthritis made worse by obesity. Cats and dogs with severe dental disease. Young dogs with preventable injuries from inappropriate play. And, perhaps most heartbreakingly of all, sick cats and dogs with no hope of recovery kept alive far beyond the point where they were getting any enjoyment from life.
Despite this, I met very few owners who didn't genuinely care about their pets. Many just needed better advice. Unfortunately, Vets usually have too little time to advise on anything other than the matter in hand and, in any case, the best time for the advice was often years earlier.
I quickly became convinced that. just as for humans, the future of animal healthcare lies in prevention - but with no NHS for pets there isn’t a centralised body to take the lead.
That’s why I decided to create Zest Pets. I wanted to combine my decades of insurance experience with my Veterinary knowledge to create a new sort of pet insurance - one that would really make a difference to pets lives.
